• AA 2XXX is a material that can be strengthened by precipitation through heat treatment. The mechanism of precipitation may vary depending on heat treatment conditions, dislocation and energy inside the material. Therefore, a study was conducted to identify the correlation between dislocation and precipitation mechanism. Predict the properties of the material itself through thermodynamic calculations, and confirm the properties of phases and precipitates inside the material through melting experiments. Microstructural analysis to set the heat treatment conditions and thermal behavior analysis to confirm the precipitation mechanism were conducted. Through this, the precipitation strengthening mechanism of the material is specified and the correlation between dislocation and precipitation mechanism is identified.
